Drama Queens….. for the KING!

           

Mission
The Drama Queen Club has been created to encourage girls to be all they were made to be in the eyes of the Lord. The very heart of this club is Jeremiah 1:5 “Before you were in the womb I knew (or chose) you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
The Drama Queen Club came to life during the development of Shelly Wilson’s recent album “Under the Shadow of your Wings.” Her song entitled “Drama Queen” was penned as a transparent expression of the unique qualities of her personality and heart. Some traits she openly shares that seemed less than desirable qualities to her, until the Lord reminded her He uses ALL things together for His good. Now, she wants to take that lesson and teach it to young girls. Her desire is that they would be lifted up in knowing that they are beautifully and wonderfully made and “wired” for a mission. A mission crafted just for them by the Lord. A mission specific to their makeup, their desires, and their dreams. Simply put……they need encouragement to “take their place in the Kingdom” and to live out their God given purpose. They need a safe place to talk, hearts of compassion who will love them as they are, and people to walk along side them as they discover truth, and the wonders of the God of the universe.
Activities will include homework assistance, movies, sports activities, games, Bible Study, and discovering dreams and passions. Activities will be planned based on the desires uncovered. Whether it is scrap booking, making jewelry, singing, dancing, or art, we will all have a chance to share our gifts and talents. Programs with speakers, fashion shows, as well as musical artists will be intertwined to give the girls an inside look at those using their gifts for the Lord. An important part of this program will address living in a world where the lines have become blurred between appropriate and inappropriate, right and wrong, what is truth and what is not. Fashion shows, skits, and other creative events will be used to teach girls how to grow up with holy desires that are pleasing to the Lord. From etiquette to fashion we will have a blast learning to be “Dramas Queens for the KING!”

For those “Drama Queens” who are geographically outside our area, feel free to sign up and have access to a community of other Drama Queens to hang with. You will have the ability to chat, get exclusive updates from Shelly, and all sorts of cool freebies. Discuss your passions and dreams and learn more about the ONE who put them in your heart. Put your faith in action as a member of Shelly’s team and help her on the streets with gydgets, widgets, and cool stuff to pass to your friends.
