From
Bondage to FREEDOM…. That is the story of
singer/songwriter, Shelly Wilson. She was swept off her
feet when the Lord captured her heart and sat her at His
feet in complete surrender. Promise and hope began in
reading the last page of a Bruce Wilkinson book, “The
Dream Giver.” One moment she will never forget was when
the Lord spoke these words over her, ‘I am giving you
back your dream, now go use it for me.” Her journey had
just begun.
This journey for Shelly has seen many firsts by God’s
hand. She released her debut album ‘
In the Midst’
with the title track enveloping the emotions and
struggles the Lord saw her through in those recently
past years. The album is placed in over 40 downloadable
sites such as I-tunes, MSN Music, and Napster, to just
name a few.
Upon the birth of her music ministry, the
Lord gave Shelly and her prayer group a scripture,
Eph 3:20 “Now unto Him who is able to do immeasurably
more than you could ever think or imagine, according to
the power that worketh in us.” Close to her
heart is the desire to reach outside the church walls to
share the love of Jesus Christ so that they too may
know He will do “immeasurably more” for them as well.
4 years later, Shelly is releasing her second album.
Not only as an artist, but as a blossoming songwriter.
With the tender care and production of Gary Leach at
Rosewood Studios, this album
is the essence of
Shelly’s heart.
Each song whispered to her in the midst of personal
pain, struggle, joy, and extreme adoration for her
Savior.
“Moments with Jesus”, as she calls
them……..Now put to music, with a command from above to
NOW GO!
Woven tightly together by Psalm 91 brought to
life in the title track “Under the Shadow of Your
Wings.”

The Lord has broadened Shelly’s boundaries into speaking
and writing of His presence in her life. Facing each
personal fear with victory on a journey of learning the
wonders of His Majesty.
His message to her has been
specifically “to be transparent with my people.”
Those very “
Moments with Jesus” have been
compiled in a
book format and she is currently
seeking publishing. Vividly remembering Bruce
Wilkinson’s book once again, she often passes out
white feathers to remind those she ministers to
of their “Big Dream.”
You will often hear her
quoting Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I
knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I
appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Her
question for you will be this…are you living the life
God created you for? For in that place is where you will
find
fullness of Joy in Jesus. Take up your cross and
follow……...
Personal Tidbits…………
I have been married for 18 years to my high school
sweetheart and have 2 awesome kiddos, Allyson and Brady.
We live in a small East Texas town and “love the small
town atmosphere.” “I love living where I know the
teachers who take care of my children daily. I love
having friends who have known me my entire life and
watch our kids now play together. I can’t imagine living
anywhere else. This is our home and there is NO PLACE
like home.
As my daughter says, I cry over every sad movie, even
if I have seen it a thousand times. I cry over
commercials, other people’s suffering, and I cry
continuously at my church altar…. my “secret place”
with the Lord. I believe the Lord keeps my heart tender
to see at times through His eyes. Without love and
compassion we are unable to show the grace of Christ.
For God is love.
Through fear and pain I found the lover of my soul who
was simply waiting for me to “look up.” Out of the
forced stillness, He tenderly drew me near and revealed
Himself to me. Through a daily battle with Fibromyalga,
l have learned to trust His sovereignty, His timing, and
His healing power. He is the Lord who heals me! He is
the same God who parted the Red Sea and He reminds
me…..Nothing is impossible for Him.
I am burdened that many Christians are not
experiencing the “fullness” of Jesus Christ and that
many still do not know Him truly. I am burdened that we
have become so enthralled in religion, rituals, and
habits that we have no real relationship with Jesus! I
know it simply because I lived it. I am burdened to
share my struggles so others may learn and live. Jesus
has taught me that through my weakness He is made
strong. Jesus is REAL. Not fantasy, not theory. His
grace abounds no matter what your past holds. No one is
“too late” to have a personal relationship with the
creator of the universe. As a matter of biblical fact,
we all hold a unique purpose tucked in our
hearts… with a yearning that will never be filled until
we live it out in this present generation. It is our
heritage to claim in the name of Jesus!
