A Moment with Jesus…”Waiting on a Rescue”
It’s such a beautiful thing when you realize God’s way with you. How He talks to you, works with you, whispers to you. When you finally see that although your words are read by many, it was first for YOU! I have been praying daily in my prayer closet for 2 things and one of those things was a “RESCUE!” The ministry has grown beyond what I can handle as one person, both physically and financially and we are asking God to send helpers and kingdom sowers. Every day I have reminded the Lord that I am “waiting on a rescue.” As I pondered my own rescue, He brought me to a passage one day in the Psalms. It seems David had many days with the same such prayers (boy does that make me feel better.) The passage said “He set me free and rescued me, for He delights in me.” As I was writing the lyrics to the song God began singing with me one day, I started thinking of all the different “rescues” we all may be going through. My rescues may not look like yours. My sorrows are not what you are experiencing…but nonetheless the Lord knows EACH one intimately. As I sat with the Lord, He showed me how many need a rescue…but many times we turn everywhere but Him for help. I too have done this many times by taking my needs to everyone but Him…..THE RESCUER! We talked about the many rescues over my life…one after another…..So, today I share this song with you unedited and probably not fully finished but FRESH ……just to say that maybe just maybe “while you are waiting on a rescue…He is waiting on YOU!”
Have you ever held on so tight That your hands become bruised..and sore
And have you ever cried yourself to sleep Praying God I can’t do this.…..anymore
Has your gut become so sick and tired of this wrestling…
But have you called out to the only one whose Eye is on your sifting.
Have you come to see you’ve lost all hope Because you put your faith…in a man
And have you even sometimes welcomed death Because it looked like a better…. alternative.
And have you wondered how you’ve gotten To this place of such brokenness
But have you called out to the only one Who can fill all the emptiness?
While your waiting on a rescue
From your knight in shining armor…yea
Oh and your waiting on a rescue
From the one who’s named Faithful and True!
Yea you’re waiting on a rescue
From the one who’ll come riding on a white horse
And while you’re waiting on a rescue
He’s waiting on YOU!
Have you ever been so flat broke? That you ain’t got no food to eat?
And have you even had a baby girl But you ain’t got no milk for her to drink?
And have you met this loving Savior Who feeds His kids from heaven..yea
Cuz while you’re waiting on a rescue, He’s waiting on YOU
While you’re waiting on a rescue
Your knight in shining armor…yea
Oh and your waiting on a rescue
From the one who’s named Faithful and True!
Yea you’re waiting on a rescue
From the one who’ll come riding on a white horse?
And while you’re waiting on a rescue
He’s waiting on YOU!

“Then I saw heaven opened, and there before me was a white horse. The rider on the horse is called Faithful and True, and he is right when he judges and makes war. His eyes are like burning fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him, which no one but himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and clean, were following him on white horses. Out of the rider’s mouth comes a sharp sword that he will use to defeat the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will crush out the wine in the winepress of the terrible anger of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his upper leg was written this name: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16
Father, I thank you that you open up your heart to me for glimpses of your love, your thoughts of us, your whispers. That you remind me many times we turn everywhere but YOU for our rescues. I thank you that you bend down to listen to us as we talk with you (Psalm 116:2.) That you pay such close attention and that you are never passive with our cries for help. I thank you that you are my rescuer time and time again….and that one day the heaven’s will part and we will see you on that white horse….our knight in shining armor…that what once was believing on things unseen…will be right before my eyes:)

I want to be like Mary!!
I received this in my inbox today from a precious friend…I wanted to share! And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.” —Matthew 26:6-9, NKJV
I really like the heart of Mary of Bethany. She was not an apostle. She was never famous, never wrote a book, never did a conference, and never said much. Her passionate love was in secret—she just loved the Lord ferociously in secret. She took all she had, her earthly treasure—an alabaster box filled with spikenard, worth thirty thousand dollars—and she lavishly, extravagantly poured it upon the One she loved. All the apostles were mad, not just Judas. In fact, everyone was mad about this. But Jesus ignored their reactions. He silenced their accusations by honoring this adoring worshiper. Jesus knew that she would never write a book or speak at a conference or do anything of worldly significance, but despite her obscurity, no one would ever forget how she moved the heart of Christ with her love. Something magnificent happens when human beings recognize the gold of the pleasure of this romance and choose it instead of the sawdust of this world.
Holiness…..
A friend of mine in Tennessee posts a “daily download” from the Holy Spirit every day. He ministers to Christian musicians and artists at www.beaconartistlounge.com. I pray that this Word would seep into our hearts and become active in our daily lives. This is the truth of God’s Word and He desires us to be a ready bride when He comes for us!!
*HOLINESS*…
morally and spiritually excellent;
to be revered;
belonging to, devoted to, or empowered by, God;
consecrated;
sacred;
godly;
godlike;
devout;
chaste;
sanctified;
blessed;
hallowed.
Psalm 24:3-6…
Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior.
Such is the generation of those who seek Him.
Psalm 77:13-14…
Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God?
You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
Romans 12:1-2…
Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—which is your spiritual worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.
1 Thes.4:3-4…
It is God’s will that you should be Holy; that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable.
1 Thes.4:7-8…
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you His Holy Spirit.
2 Tim.2:20-21…
In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignobel. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for nobel purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
Heb.12:14…
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
1 Pet.15-16…
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
1 Pet.2:4-5…
As you come to Him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Pet.2:9…
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Revelation 4:8…
Each of the four living creatures had six wings covered with eyes all around, even under his wings.
Day and night they never stopped saying:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

A Moment with Jesus…Will you Answer the Call?
What an amazing year this has been with the Lord already! I wanted to share something on my heart lately! This isnt so much a story from the road as it is a moment I have had with Jesus personally. I have found myself asking the Lord lately “Am I really burdened for those who do not know Jesus?”
If I could just be honest with you and say that many times I tend to find so much selfishness within that I question my own heart intent before the Lord. I find it easy to make this journey about all the things it’s NOT! I also want to confess I am not satisfied with my heart, my mind, or my motives….and at times I wonder if there is any “pure” at all inside of this human being? Our heart’s are sooo very deceptive, our flesh always battling for control, we must stay seated in His presence for constant cleansing. The Lord reminds me of His power to descend in that moment of surrender and honest examination of our own hearts. I want to weep when He weeps, rejoice when He rejoices, and move when He moves. I want to be about His AGENDA…rather than my own…
His heart is for all to be brought to salvation and He uses the body of Christ to help do that. He calls us out to use our gifts in creative ways to share the love of Christ. As many of you already know, He gives me messages through songs that I write down…mostly the songs speak for themselves of what exactly I am feeling with Jesus at that very moment. As He gave me this new one, my heart ached at how at times I have missed the call to share Jesus in an instant….can’t we all recall times we were burdened to do something, call someone, visit them, etc…….then come to realize…it’s suddenely too late? The opportunity has passed! His words in this song should haunt us…..not paralyze us…but cause us to press firmly on telling others about Jesus. This is our mission! Someone’s life depends on your obedience, faithfulness, willingness……to share Christ. Will you answer the CALL?

A Moment with Jesus.. “My 2 cents Worth”
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
NKJV
Many, many months went into putting together every article, every ad, and every “how-to” lesson for the new Drama Queen Magazine. Finally, the finishing touches were added and then it came time to print the first issue. Quietly, I sat with the Lord and said “But Lord…there are no funds to pay the printer. What do I do now?” The Lord said “print it …and trust me!!!” So off to print it went! (yikes) Weeks went by and daily in my prayer closet I thanked the Lord for the funds to print the magazine and for the lives He wanted to touch through the magazine.
A few days before the bill was due, (like 2 or 3 days people..You understand what I am sayin here!) some folks came by the house. They handed me 2 checks, of which they only intended to give me one; however, they changed their minds at the last minute and decided the Lord wanted them to give this ministry both checks. I sat the checks on my desk and turned to walk out of my office. The Lord whispered, “Add it up Shelly.” So I did and again I turned to leave the office and the Lord whispered, “Check your printer’s invoice.” Hesitantly, I pulled the invoice out of my file folder and there it was! Woooo Hooooo! The 2 checks added up to 2 cents MORE than what I owed for printing the first issue of this magazine!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS MIRACLE PEOPLE?!?! The Lord gave me 2 cents more than what I owed! The bill was about to be due any day. He covered it entirely and then some! I was so excited that I was stunned. You would think I would dance in circles …have a Drama Queenish Moment….but I was stunned…speechless! The Lord loves these girls that much! Once again He wanted to prove to me that He was committed to this magazine and that He was in control and had a plan and purpose, regardless of my shortcomings. How beautiful is that. I was so excited I had to call the printer and tell them what happened and testify to His goodness and faithfulness!
I need to also tell you…so you can be encouraged. Your God is faithful and when He births a project or a dream, He will provide the way to make it happen. It will not always be easy. He will require faith to step in the water from time to time. He will do His part, if you do YOUR part! That makes this magazine more special to me. It’s not about the magazine as much as it’s about the one who created it and that it is quite apparent He is pursuing generations of girls with a holy passion! I have been asked to do many things by the Lord that seemed illogical, crazy, insane, and very fearful to this human!! I have to constantly remind myself of the TRUTH in the Word of God, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
NKJV
If today you think God doesn’t know your every need, your every hurt, your every struggle…He knows my sisters, He knows! Have faith in Him. Trust Him! Surrender it ALL to Him. He is more than capable and He delights in helping you.
As for the 2 cents extra the Lord gave me? Well, He is all about details I have learned. I guess He had a mind to title this article His way!

A Moment with Jesus….my secret place
This week I found myself overtaken by the to-dos of ministry. Remembering the passage “be anxious for nothing…” I realized the enemy was consuming me with anxiety and fear of failure. Do we not often go back to this place even after we have spent years with the Lord teaching us He truly does have all things under control?
Although I had a full day of last minute deadlines for the new Drama Queen Magazine, tour dates to prepare for, various ministry responsibilites I decided to shut down…….and go to my secret place with the Lord and just beg for His presence to descend. The enemy had been relentless all week and I was in the middle of a fast so I knew to expect such intensity during a time of committment with the Lord.
I found myself weeping as I felt Him surround me. It was as if my head was leaning up against His chest as He gently whispered….”there, there.” Even writing this I am overwhelmed with tears for that is exactly what I needed at that moment and it was all He wanted from me. My time…my trust…my love…my weakness…my fears…my hopes…my heart. I began singing to Him a song He has given me months ago. A song of longing after Him that poured out of me as I simply wanted MORE of Him!
I have said time and time again….the music and the “stuff of ministry” can go….at any time should He see a need for that or that it is drawing me away from Himself. But I cannot live without Him in my life……I need Him more than I even need my next breath.
I am including this song…rough and uncut….simply because I pray it draws you to Him and that your heart would have the same longing and yearning for Him as mine does…The lyrics are also available for you to click on to follow along….let the Lord pour into you the same desire He poured into me during my moment with Jesus.
Love Much!
