It’s such a beautiful thing when you realize God’s way with you. How He talks to you, works with you, whispers to you. When you finally see that although your words are read by many, it was first for YOU! I have been praying daily in my prayer closet for 2 things and one of those things was a “RESCUE!” The ministry has grown beyond what I can handle as one person, both physically and financially and we are asking God to send helpers and kingdom sowers.  Every day I have reminded the Lord that I am “waiting on a rescue.” As I pondered my own rescue, He brought me to a passage one day in the Psalms. It seems David had many days with the same such prayers (boy does that make me feel better.) The passage said “He set me free and rescued me, for He delights in me.” As I was writing the lyrics to the song God began singing with me one day, I started thinking of all the different “rescues” we all may be going through. My rescues may not look like yours. My sorrows are not what you are experiencing…but nonetheless the Lord knows EACH one intimately. As I sat with the Lord, He showed me how many need a rescue…but many times we turn everywhere but Him for help. I too have done this many times by taking my needs to everyone but Him…..THE RESCUER! We talked about the many rescues over my life…one after another…..So, today I share this song with you unedited and probably not fully finished but FRESH ……just to say that maybe just maybe “while you are waiting on a rescue…He is waiting on YOU!”

Have you ever held on so tight That your hands become bruised..and sore

And have you ever cried yourself to sleep Praying God I can’t do this.…..anymore

Has your gut become so sick and tired of this wrestling…

But have you called out to the only one whose Eye is on your sifting.

Have you come to see you’ve lost all hope Because you put your faith…in a man

And have you even sometimes welcomed death Because it  looked like a better…. alternative.

And have you wondered how you’ve gotten To this place of such brokenness

But have you called out to the only one Who can fill all the emptiness?

While your waiting on a rescue

From your knight in shining armor…yea

Oh and your waiting on a rescue

From the one who’s named Faithful and True!

Yea you’re waiting on a rescue

From the one who’ll come riding on a white horse

And while you’re waiting on a rescue

He’s waiting on YOU!

Have you ever been so flat broke?  That you ain’t got no food to eat?

And have you even had a baby girl But you ain’t got no milk for her to drink?

And have you met this loving Savior Who feeds His kids from heaven..yea

Cuz while you’re waiting on a rescue, He’s waiting on YOU

While you’re waiting on a rescue

Your knight in shining armor…yea

Oh and your waiting on a rescue

From the one who’s named Faithful and True!

Yea you’re waiting on a rescue

From the one who’ll come riding on a white horse?

And while you’re waiting on a rescue

He’s waiting on YOU!

“Then I saw heaven opened, and there before me was a white horse.  The rider on the horse is called Faithful and True, and he is right when he judges and makes war.  His eyes are like burning fire, and on his head are many crowns.  He has a name written on him, which no one but himself knows.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.  The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and clean, were following him on white horses.  Out of the rider’s mouth comes a sharp sword that he will use to defeat the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron.  He will crush out the wine in the winepress of the terrible anger of God the Almighty.  On his robe and on his upper leg was written this name:  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16

Father, I thank you that you open up your heart to me for glimpses of your love, your thoughts of us, your whispers. That you remind me many times we turn everywhere but YOU for our rescues. I thank you that you bend down to listen to us as we talk with you (Psalm 116:2.)  That you pay such close attention and that you are never passive with our cries for help.  I thank you that you are my rescuer time and time again….and that one day the heaven’s will part and we will see you on that white horse….our knight in shining armor…that what once was believing on things unseen…will be right before my eyes:)

Love MUCH, Shelly
